REDUCED SHAKESPEARE COMPANY PODCAST
CELEBRATES ITS 1,000TH EPISODE
WITH A LIVE RECORDING AT CHICAGO’S ANNOYANCE THEATRE
February 2, 2026, marks the 1000th episode of the Reduced Shakespeare Company Podcast, the world’s longest-running weekly theatre podcast, and Austin Tichenor, co-artistic director of the Reduced Shakespeare Company (RSC) and producer and host of the RSC Podcast, will commemorate the occasion with a special live conversation with Mick Napier and Jennifer Estlin, the founder and directors of Chicago’s famed Annoyance Theatre.
The RSC Podcast, which debuted in 2006 and has never missed a week in 20 years, demystifies the creative process through informal conversations with guests ranging from Brian Dennehy to ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic and MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell; actors and comedians Rachel Dratch, Matt Walsh, JK Simmons, and Suzy Nakamura; Tony-winning directors Mary Zimmerman and Robert Falls; playwrights Lauren Gunderson, Sarah Ruhl, and Rajiv Joseph; best-selling novelists Christopher Moore, Nicole Galland, and Louis Bayard; and starship captains Elizabeth Dennehy and Scott Bakula.
Annoyance Theatre, of course, is famous for its long-running shows Co-Ed Prison Sluts, Splatter Theatre, and The Real-Life Brady Bunch, and for helping to launch the careers of Matt Walsh, Andy Richter, Jane Lynch, Kate Flannery, Ike Barinholtz, and Amy Sedaris. Napier is also the author of the seminal how-to book Improvise. Scene From the Inside Out.
This live, one-night only celebration begins at 7pm, Monday, February 2, 2026. Admission is Pay-What-You-Can and reservations are recommended.
